I went to Kopi last time I was in Portland and just had to visit it again. I love their unique concept of blending southeastern touches to their coffee flavors. Their kedai susu is a MUST, you won’t find it anywhere else in Portland (or maybe the entire west coast). It tastes almost like a chai latte but more coconut-y.
They have a seating area but their hours are really limited. Everyday they close at 2pm so it’s not really meant for afternoon studying. Parking in this area is hard so you better hope you get lucky with street parking.
I'm from Wisconsin and have spent quite a few days in Portland. I'm a coffee connessiuer. Ive tried about 4 or 5 different coffee shops before trying Kopi Coffee, and i have to say it is by far my favorite. The barista was very nice, the coffees we had were delicious (the ube latte being my favorite), and I enjoy the seating that is in this coffee shop as well which I forgot to take photos of. If I lived here this would be a place I'd frequent.
I’m not one to write reviews, however I think it needs to be said.
I won’t be coming back here, not because the coffee, but the service.
I love the ginger coffee, amazing drink! However each time I go (7-9 times in 3 months) there might be a particular young woman working who is so fake, disingenuous and above all…unwelcoming. She claimed to be the owner, and I was shocked - That the leader of the team is so unwelcoming.
Now I know people have off days in the customer service industry but as a person who’s worked in a customer service, it’s important to treat every single person the same, consistently.
On separate occasions waiting for my amazing coffee…I did notice service with this particular lady changes depending on the sex of a person. I’m not making any bold assumptions. It’s just an observation. And since I’m not the one that enjoys cross-dressing …I think it’s time to give up that amazing, addictive, delicious, ginger coffee.
The other staff members are nice.
Good luck “Owner” ~
tried the creme brulee and signature kedai susu lattes. both were delicious and there is a nice seating den tucked away on the left
The most amazing coffee place on the planet! Drinks you won't find anywhere else!
Got the honey mocha latte hot. Def recommend although a little more on the sweeter side for my coffee preferences these days. You can ask for half sweet if needed. :) Great ambiance in the shop and a good amount of seating in their little basement area if there aren’t spots up by the front. They also sell beans that are really good for making coffee at home. 👌🏼
Local coffeehouse with a unique menu of lattes and pastries. Something different in a good way. Service was prompt and courteous. Will return when in Portland again.
It's been a long time since I've been in this area (usually if I'm trying to go to Screen Door). The place gets pretty busy, and people are common in and out. The seating area is nice and cozy. We ordered a couple of drinks - Kedai Susu (iced) and Ube Blossom Latte (hot). The drinks were prepared pretty quickly. Both of the drinks were pretty good. I enjoyed the iced drink more as it wasn't too sweet.
